My father-in-law and I chartered the BobR II this evening ou of Oyster Bay for some very nice mixed blue/striper action... In 5 or so hours we had 3 bass to 25 lbs. and a bunch of 3-6 lb blues One bass was a shorty around 26" or so, one 13 pounder and the other was 25lbs The 2 keepable size bass hit at the same time and were brought into the boat around 5 minutes apart. We used bunker chunks and the 25 pounder bit on the head, the 13 pounder (and shorty) bit on a chunk of the body. Fish finder rigs with 4-5 ounce sinkers and 36" liters 6-0 hooks seemed to do the trick I don't really know where the heck we were but we were right next to a red bouy around 20 minutes or so North out of Oyster Bay... (maybe buoy 32A ?? ) Hopefully Capt. Steve will post on this thread and give us an idea as to where we were...
