I went fishing on the Laura Lee for the first time in my life Tuesday,Nov. 8th. Had a very good day. I had one keeper and I think for the whole boat we had 13 keepers. I lost a big one due to the fact that the line on the boat reel I was using was probably still the line they use for fluke and not heavy enough for Stripers. The lione snapped. I enjoyed myself so much that I returned on Wednesday. It was by far one the MOST FRUSTRATING days in my life. It is also one of the reasons I do NOT like fishing on party boats. Out of the 51/2 hrs I was on the boat I spent close to 3 of those hours out of the water being clipped and re-set up due to tangles. The crew was trying very hard to stay on top of things but with that many people fishing shoulder to shoulderr and all of the lines heading in the same diredction there will be tangles. Another very frustrating part of the day was the Captain being very stubborn about finding fish. In the first 5 hours of fishing we had two (2), that's right JUST 2 fish. One of those was a keeper. The Captain was sure this was where the fish were so when he "moved'(??) he just went in a circle. Maybe there were fish there the day before , but after 5 hours????? Give me a b rak. We all paid $50 just to go in circles and get our lines tangled. He FINALLY gave in a moved to where the other party boats were and SURPRISE< SURPRISE, that is where the fish were. WE caught 9 more keepers theer and got tangled a few more times. I was so frustrated that I actually stopped fishing because everytime I dropped my line I got tangled. The captain was nice enoughj to have a "bonus" time to fish, an extra 15 minutes for those who did not catch a keeper. Well, there was enough of us that what do you think happened during the "bonus round"?? That's right another tangle that consumed almost all of the alotted time. Just added frustration. I may fish Captree for stripers again, but I will think twice about the Laura Lee.
