Hi, I am fairly new to this site and area and would appreciate some advise. I currently live in Lindenhurst and since I don't have a boat I am usually surf fishing. I just obtained a 4x4 fishing permit for the first time this year but so far no luck getting a stripper. I went few times to Soar Thumb and had no luck there as well as at Democrat Point. I did catch many bluefish but no strippers. I usually use fresh clam or fresh bunker. I usually try to go before high tide but as found there is no really a rule when it comes to that. Anybody have any tips of surf fishing around this area? Best time to go? Best bait to use? Any sure/better spots?
