Hi zlax,
Welcome to Northport. its a great place to fish. i fish all artificials and fly fish so no bait. and everything from the beach no boat. so that being said check out Crab Meadow Beach all the way to the right, the out flow at the LILCO stacks and just about anyplace there's water. The harbor is alive in the fall and I've actually brougth my fly rod and caught stripers from the town dock. Blues if you like them were thick as fleas last week in the harbor with some bass mixed in. This will get you started and then start asking aroungd and you'll pick up the spots.
