I noticed last summer after a long walk from the parking lot in west hampton that across the Moriches Inlet on the Fire Island side there were several guys parked on the beach and fishing the inlet. I was wondering how to get there and if you need a specific permit. Thanks alot.

You can get access from Smith Point Park. You need Suffolk green pass and beach buggy permit

Good luck during high tide; It seemed the outer beach was closed last year more than it was open.
