Boaters Safety course
America's Boaters Class hosted by AB Rescue Atlantic Beach Rescue will be Hosting a US Coast Guard Boaters Safety Course ( America's Boating Course) in Atlantic Beach on April 29th. It will be taught by the Freeport US Coast Guard Auxiliary. This course is necessary to legally operate a Personal Water Craft in NY State and is valuable to any one navigation coastal waters. It cover the fundamentals of boating operation and safety. It is basic but if you are looking to expand you crew or familiarize non water rescue members of the department that may support the water teams effort it may be ideal. Americas Boating Safety Course topics include Introduction to Boating Boating Law Boat Safety Equipment Safe Boating & PWC handling Navigation & rules of right of way and passage Boating Hazards & Challenges Trailering, Storing and Protecting Your Boat Hunting and Fishing, Water-skiing and other boating activities A certificate of completion will be issued at the end of the 8 hour course. the course will be held at Atlantic Beach Rescue Head Quarters at 9am. The cost of the course is $65, $45 for members of a Nassau County Fire or Rescue Agency. Pre registration is required. The fee includes all materials needed and the certification.
