Love fishing on the southshore. single again, and bought the boat of my dreams. I love fishing, but def need some help finding the fish. My boat is docked in merrick. I go out as often as I can, usually every other day, and hang out near the meadowbrook brdige. We catch some 24-26 in bass, and some blues, but im looking for the big fights!!!! any advice would be great.

Hey Maristalum, Yes, I do know of some "spots". The weird thing about most Fisherman is that when they find a "spot" they will be reluctant to tell ANYONE!  WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR? If it's Bass, Then the Surf is Best, or structure of some kind (Bridges ect.) When ,the Tide,the Bait. all matter very much. First rule to follow is the bigger the Fish you want , well, the Bigger the Bait you should use!! Big Fish don't want to waste time/energy on snacks. Blues you can find everywhere. Right now I'm in FLUKE mode. We (my friend & his 20ft boat) have found big Fluke and lot's of them S.E. of Jones Inlet Approx.4-5mi. (80ft). We use custom rigs that we make ourselves. Give a shout if want/need details. Good luck!
