Hi John,

Welcome to the site. Stick with us as we add features to the site and hopefully attract more members.

I'm counting the days till Flounder season... The winters sure are long around here. I'm usually able to head down to Florida for a few days of fishing but this year it was tuff to find the time...

I keep my boat on the south shore as well... Do most of my fishing out of FI inlet and I try and do at least a few trips out of Huntington...

Anyway, hope to see you around the site. It sure does need the activity. :-)

Regards,
-Ralph

Hey 3cJohnny,

Sorry to hear about the surgery happening right in the beginning of the year... Flounder season usually starts off pretty slow anyways until the waters warm up. I'm sure you did your best to try and get it taken care of before the heart of the fishing season began... As long as you have your Priorities in order... ;-)

We've probably crossed paths many times in FI inlet. Surside3 was one of our stops when we were searching for a boat back in ~2000. We fell in love with the Whaler but it was a bit over our price range and so we had to go with something else.

Anyway, good luck with the surgery and hope to see you around the boards...

Regards,
-Ralph

Welcome to the site TB

Finding good fishing buddies is tough. I'll let you know if I ever have some free time to get out and crank on one with ya.
Also, I just created a new forum category for you to post in to find a fishing buddy:

Hey Ralph,

I really need some help. I cant fish yet due to this F'in Surgery But I did manage to take her out a couple of times to scope. I have never fished the GSB before and man I cant believe how shallow it is. I bought some charts and did some scoping out but how can you fish or waterski anywhere else but the cuts or state channel whithout running aground? anywhere you go its only 2-3 feet deep  i dont expect you to give away your honey holes but where in general should I fish If I dont want to run out to the inlet all the time. Please administrator , give me some help......

                                                                                   Thanks, John

Hi ,I'm Michael and new here , I've a small toy town ( an old rental ) I fixed up with a 25 hp on it and fish around the island. I'm used to south shore, Nassau and the great south bay, but am now fishing Mt sanai , port jeff, and moriches inlet due to town ramps available. could really use some north shore where and how toos and some ramps elsewhere for day trips. nice to find your site Michael

Hey Mike, I am a former North shore guy but I did all my fishing out of Bayside marina in Little neck bay. Boy was it great over there. I used to fish  the lighthouses close to my marina ( Stepping stone and Execution) also the back of Little Neck Bay always produced some nice bass, also if you do venture that far in try Hart Island and the mouth of LNB right in the middle. Hope this helped.     John
