me my dad and a couple of relatives decided to try some sharkin on sunday 8/31 /08. we got to the virgina wreck at around 8:30am and started fishing. we put out 4 poles 1 squid, mackrel fillets, whole bunker and a live bluefish we hooked up with early in the day. there was life around the boat the entire day.... basking shark whales turtles, but no sharks. it was about 1:30 when we made the decison to go to the linda wreck and fish there the rest of the day. We put all new baits out, but it was so calm we had a little drift, and almost no slick going. we had 4 5gallon pailes of bunker chum to use and they were almost gone. we fished for about another 2 hours and decided to call it a day, but we were going to troll for a little. as we were driving big yellowfin were jumping behind the spread, but no hookups. my dad was driving from the tower when he saw a big log floating in the water. i got up on the tower with him and we slowly drove past it and you could see a huge school of mahi mahi about 10 feet under the water. we trolled past the log for about a half hour and were able to hook up with 3 about 8 to 11 pounds. we had our catch of the day and headed home. 28' parker sport cabin twin yamaha 250s
