i have been fishing for years and i never tried clamming. I was just wondering if i need some sort of permit? where is the best place to go clamming on the south shore? and more importantly how to go about this? I have a boat which i keep in freeport, and i fish mostly around jones beach and point lookout. if anyone has any input i will greatly appreciate it. just looking for a new hobby.
