I just joined here and am interested to find out about if anyone knows about a Surf tournament held at Fire Island Hotel on Sept 25-26, 2010. THey are indicating $5,000 in prize money for the tournament in an ad i read. HAs anyone heard of this place. IS it for real. $5G's is alot of money. I called them at 631-583-8000 and they say it is correct. Anybody know about this place.

i was on fire island this summer at the hotel that is hosting the tournament... it is all true!!  $25 entry fee and fishing begins at 9am saturday the 25th & goes through sunday afternoon... $5000 to the largest keeper!!  the sept ferry schedule from bayshore should be posted later this month... ocean bay park ferries in bayshore brings you less than a mile from the hotel... the phone# you posted is to the hotel and the off season prices are not that bad... not gonna lie, the rooms are tiny!  hope this helps...      tk
