Shark in the Bay!!

Status: offline 		The other night I was fishing off of my grandmothers dock in Bellmore on east bay, right before thecanal opens up to the bay and I got a 4 ft sand shark.  It was a hell of a fight, at least a half and hour and full of many instances where I swore she was gone or wrapped around some poles.  I guess the fish was just holding its ground.  I netted it ( I was alone) got the pictures and safely released her into the nightime water.  My question is how common is it to get these sharks in the bay?

Status: offline 		Sand Shark?  That is what it looks like but I dont really know.
